Policemen sent to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national secretariat have barred members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) from gaining access to Wadata Plaza.

The PDP BoT was scheduled to meet amid rising tension in the opposition party over the controversy surrounding the office of the national secretary and the holding of the 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

However, following the police action, the BoT shifted its meeting to the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in the Central Business District, Abuja.

Former PDP national secretary, Umar Tsauri, told newsmen that the security operatives claimed to be acting on “orders from above” and that no meeting was to be allowed at Wadata Plaza.
