The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum held its 4th meeting for 2025 in Ibadan, Oyo State, and made several key resolutions.

The PDP will not join any coalition or merger with other political parties but welcomes individuals or groups willing to join the party to wrestle power and promote good leadership in 2027.

The Forum recommended that the Deputy National Secretary act as National Secretary pending the nomination and ratification of a substantive Secretary from the South East Zone.

The PDP Governors’ Forum reasserted its solidarity with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, opposing the declaration of a state of emergency in the state and pledging to stand with him until the end, while also seeking a Supreme Court interpretation on the matter.

The Forum expressed alarm over the worsening security situation in Borno, Plateau, Katsina, and Edo states, calling for a review of priorities and strategies to tackle security breaches effectively.

The PDP will hold a National Executive Committee meeting on May 27, 2025, and an early convention in Kano from August 28-30, 2025.

The Forum recommended constituting Zoning and National Convention Committees with the following members:
– Zoning Committee:
– Chairman: Gov. Douye Diri
– Vice Chairman: Gov. Dauda Lawal
– Secretary: Gov. Caleb Mutfwang
– National Convention Committee:
– Chairman: Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri
– Vice Chairman: Gov. Ademola Adeleke
– Secretary: Gov. Peter Mbah

The meeting was attended by several governors and deputy governors, including Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
