The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has set November 15 and 16 for its elective national convention, which will take place in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The convention will elect a new National Working Committee (NWC) to steer the party for the next four years, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba told reporters after the NEC meeting at the party’s Abuja headquarters.
He said the NEC also approved the membership of the convention committee and the zoning committee to oversee a transparent and fair process.
The convention comes as the PDP works to strengthen internal unity and reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general elections. Party leaders have urged stakeholders to close ranks and support the leadership renewal process, describing the convention as critical to the party’s future direction.
