The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has slated its second National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for 2024 on Thursday, September 26.

Truth Live News reports that during the initial NEC session on April 18, crucial matters, including the status of Acting National Chairman Amb. Illiya Damagum, were deferred to the upcoming meeting initially set for August.

The North Central caucus advocated for a candidate from their zone to complete the term left vacant by former Chairman Dr. Iyiorchia Ayu, who resigned prematurely.

Preceding the September NEC, the party has set July 27 for ward/delegate congresses to elect officials and delegates in 23 states and Abuja, including Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Benue, Bauchi, FCT, Taraba, and Ebonyi, among others.

The party’s 2024 adjusted timetable released on Monday outlines these activities, with appeals from ward congresses to be reviewed on August 2.

Local Government Congresses are scheduled for August 10 in 21 states, followed by appeals on August 16.

State Congresses in 18 states, including Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Kano, Rivers, FCT, Benue, Katsina, Ekiti, and Ebonyi, are set for August 31.
