Agba Grammar School, Buddy Group of Schools, Idumoza Secondary School, and Esan Model have sealed their places in the semifinals of the 2025 Uromi Like Minds Initiatives (ULMI) Football Tournament, male category, following a series of edge-of-your-seat quarterfinal matches on November 10, 2025.

The fifth edition of the community-driven tournament, organized by the Uromi Like Minds Initiatives, a group of dedicated sons and daughters committed to youth development in Uromi continues to unite local secondary schools in spirited competition.

Hosted across pitches in Esan North-East Local Government Area, the event has drawn enthusiastic crowds despite the day’s intermittent rains, echoing the resilience seen in its opening ceremony on October 28.

In today’s quarterfinals, Agba Grammar School dominated with a 3-1 victory, leveraging sharp midfield control to dismantle their opponents. Buddy Group of Schools pulled off a dramatic 2-1 comeback, fueled by a late brace that sent fans into frenzy. Idumoza Secondary School held firm in a 1-0 defensive masterclass, while Esan Model advanced 4-2, their forwards firing on all cylinders.

Tournament organizers announced the qualifiers in an official update: “At the end of the quarter final matches, Agba grammar school, Buddy group of schools, Idumoza Secondary School and Esan model are the 4 teams to slug it out at the semi-final of 2025 ULMI Football tournament; male category.”

Since its inception, ULMI has nurtured talents from Uromi’s schools, promoting discipline, teamwork, and community bonds. Past editions have spotlighted stars who progressed to state leagues, showing the tournament’s role in grassroots sports.
