The Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, has inspected the newly built Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases Center which he named after one of the past governors of the state, Peter Odili.
In a statement, Governor Wike revealed that he decided to build the treatment center out of empathy for citizens who are suffering from the currently rising cases of cancer, as well as cardiovascular related ailments.
He said;
“After inspecting the Dr Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases Centre today, I am glad we took this bold step as it would help the increasing number of people suffering from cancer and heart diseases by providing premium healthcare services at a more affordable cost.
“Julius Berger is putting the finishing touches to the centre as it will be commissioned soon. It is equipped to intenational best standards and will be managed in partnership with experienced International partners.”
