The streets of Uromi were transformed into a scene of jubilation and exuberance as the esteemed figure of Barr Asue Ighodalo, the gubernatorial hopeful of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), paid a private visit to the Okpebholo Family in Uromi, the administrative headquarters of Esan northeast LGA of Edo State.
With an entourage of supporters, market women, and exuberant youths, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation and fervor. Cultural dance troupes added to the spectacle, showcasing the rich heritage of the Uromi kingdom, as they welcomed their esteemed guest with traditional dances and songs.
The visit was not merely a private gesture, it served as a pivotal moment for Barr Ighodalo to further reaffirm and expand his bond with the Okpebholo dynasty and indeed the Amedokhian people of Uromi, where he also shared his vision and aspirations for the people of Uromi and the broader Edo State.
Graciously received by the house of the Okpebholo dynasty, as led by head of the family, Hon Engr. Felix Okpebholo, Barr Ighodalo expressed his profound gratitude to the family for the support and reception and promised to advance the progress of the Esan people.
With humility and conviction, he assured the gathered audience of his unwavering dedication to their cause, pledging to uphold the values of integrity, accessibility, and inclusivity throughout his tenure.
While Barr Engr. Patrick Okpebholo a grassroots politician and mobiliser who recently dumped the Labour Party for the PDP candidate Introduced his cherished family members, who are leaders and stakeholders in various endeavors of life, Barr Ighodalo emphasized the importance of unity and collective action in realizing their shared dreams for a brighter future.
To crown the visit, former Edo state Speaker Rt. Hon Friday Itulah thanked the house of Okpebholo and the good people of uromi for reception accorded the PDP candidate. Also present was the PDP senatorial chairman Archbishop Anthony Okosun who is a friend of the Okpebholos.
