The Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 39-year-old suspected fake Army Captain Andy Teddy Edwards for armed robbery in Lagos.
According to the Police, the arrest was made possible via a painstaking investigation after one of his victims reported the theft of her her vehicle- Lexus RX330 SUV brand.
The suspect specialized in using a modeling agent as a cover-up to lure ladies for auditioning, thereafter rob them of their cars and valuables at gunpoint.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State , SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest.
He added that the police stormed the residence of the suspect and “recovered a Ford Edge SUV with registration number KRD 276 EG, one sewing machine, a POS machine with six SIM cards, two pairs of military camouflage uniform, one number plate – AFL 469 GD.”
Hundeyin urged owner of the Ford SUV to come forward to claim it adding that suspect would be arraigned after investigation.”
Meanwhile, in a similar development, a 39-year-old fake soldier who was identified as Oluwatosin Gabriel, as well as his accomplice an illegal supplier of military uniforms, Nurudeen Agboola have also been apprehended.
The suspects were arrested during the enforcement of the total ban on motorcycles in some parts of the state while Nurudeen Agboola was arrested following detailed investigation by the detectives which led to the arrest 35 years old .
The police recovered some of the items from the duo including four pairs of military camouflage uniforms, nine live cartridges, military identity cards, police accouterments, and charms.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the extent of their criminality.
