The Delta State Police command has confirmed the arrest of a 47-year-old native doctor with two automatic pump-action guns and cutlass hidden inside the ceiling of his house in Umuehe Quarter Ibusa, near Asaba, the state capital.
The suspect known as Okonji Chimeze was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad, following an investigation conducted against him.
Acting on a credible intelligence, operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad were said to have stormed the suspect’s residence at Ibusa on June 14.
State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe who confirmed this in a statement, said that a search warrant was executed in the premises of the suspect during which two automatic pump-action guns and one cutlass were recovered hidden inside the ceiling of the suspect’s room.
He said that the suspect and exhibits are in their custody as the investigation is ongoing.
