Police Confirm Rescue Of Five Kidnapped Victims In Ogun

The Ogun State Police command has confirmed the rescue of five kidnapped victims along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo disclosed this while briefing Journalists in the state.

He said also that 18 persons were arrested for various crimes ranging from kidnapping, cultism and vandalism.

According to CP Ogunlowo who gave the run down of men of his operatives, said “The command has dealt with the criminals, especially kidnappers terrorising the state.

“We are able to smoke them out, particularly from Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

“The state will be too hot for them to operate. We recorded a breakthrough when Anti-Kidnapping Unit overpowered a gang of kidnappers in their hideout and neutralised five of them during a gun duel along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

“They abducted their victims in the forest along Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway.

“Three victims were rescued while we recovered AK47 rifles, N5.2million and three mobile phones.

“Also, the unit bust the kidnappers’ den and neutralised two of the gunmen while four other fled, abandoning their operational weapon at the swampy area of Ikorodu. We rescued retired AIG wife, Mrs Odumosu.

“The Owode-Egba Police Division arrested two suspects for conspiracy and vandalising the installation wires and iron rods belonging to Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) at Ogunmakin.

“Police arrested a suspect for pouring hot oil on his wife and stabbing her in the head during a domestic dispute at Ring Road, Owode Egba Local Government.

“Police operatives intervened in a case of gender based violence and assault against a housewife, leading to the arrest of her husband for inflicting various injuries on her.

“Operatives arrested a suspect who left his security post at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, to engage in unlawful activities with a six-year-old at night inside a university building.

“The suspected paedophilia, who attempted sexual relationship with the girl would have had his way fully before he was arrested.

“Police Oru-Ijebu arrested two suspects for fraudulently purchasing clothes with N220,000 and generator valued at N140,000 using fake bank transfers.

“Two suspects involved in conspiracy and armed robbery were arrested. They shot a man near Idufe village in Imeko”.
