Mrs. Mary Apeh, abducted near CBN Junction in Karu on August 7, 2025, at approximately 11:55 p.m., was safely released and reunited with her family unharmed, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Zone 7 Abuja, confirmed.

According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the victim’s freedom was secured through “sustained pressure and tireless efforts by operatives.” The swift response from the police forced the kidnappers to abandon their hostage, ensuring Mrs. Apeh’s safe return. “The victim’s release was the result of sustained pressure and tireless efforts by operatives,” a source told Makama, highlighting the strategic operations that led to her rescue.

Mrs. Apeh’s abduction had sparked alarm in Karu, a busy area of Abuja, raising concerns about rising insecurity.

Her safe reunion with her family has brought relief to the community, though the incident shows the persistent threat of kidnapping in Nigeria’s capital.

The police have vowed to continue their pursuit of the perpetrators, with sources stating, “Efforts are ongoing to track and arrest the fleeing suspects.”

While details of the rescue remain limited, the focus now shifts to apprehending the culprits to prevent further incidents.

Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities as security operations intensify across Abuja.
