President Bola Tinubu has sworn in seven newly-appointed ministers at a ceremony held in the council chamber of Aso Rock Villa on Monday.
The ministers took their oath of office in two groups, with four in the first batch and three in the second. Their citations were read by Abiodun Oladunjoye, the State House Director of Information.
This comes after the Senate screened and confirmed the nominees last week, following President Tinubu’s request to fill cabinet positions left vacant after he dismissed five ministers two weeks ago.
In addition to these appointments, President Tinubu has introduced changes to his cabinet structure. He created a new Ministry of Livestock Development and transformed the Niger Delta Ministry into the Ministry of Regional Development. The Ministry of Sports Development has been dissolved, with its minister reassigned to the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
