Former Liberia President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has caused a stir on social media, after she deleted a congratulatory message she addressed to Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his victory at the polls.
In the message, Sirleaf congratulated Tinubu, the Nigerian people for exercising their democratic right and also said that she hopes that the president-elect includes and prioritizes women in his administration.
The Liberian former president suddenly deleted the tweet after days of having it and this caused an uproar on social media. Many thought it necessary that she did it because Tinubu is allegedly not the chosen one. Others alleged that she may have found out that the election was flawed and as a result, took back her congratulatory message.
