The Rivers State Police Command has declared two senior officials of the Ahoada-East Local Government Area wanted in connection with a violent assault on Goodluck Iheanachor, the area’s Sole Administrator.

The suspects, identified as Mr. Hector Ekakita, the Chief Security Officer, and Mr. Aloni Olodi, the Chief of Staff, are being sought for alleged involvement in criminal conspiracy, assault, stealing, and attempted murder.

According to police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko, the attack took place on 20 June 2025 at the Ahoada-East Council Secretariat. Iheanachor was reportedly assaulted by a group of about 30 people. He sustained injuries, and his phones and important documents were taken.

She noted that the suspects also allegedly forced him to sign a resignation letter under duress and made away with both personal and official items from his office.

The police say both men were invited for questioning at the State Headquarters but failed to appear. As a result, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has officially declared them wanted.

CP Adepoju warned that anyone found assisting or harbouring the suspects will face legal consequences.

He also appealed to members of the public with credible information on their whereabouts to contact the Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, or reach out to the Command’s Control Room and Complaint Response Unit.
