Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten US Basketball Star, LeBron James, PSG Star, Lionel Messi to become the highest paid athlete after completing move to Saudi Arabian side, Al Nassr.

Ronaldo, on Tuesday was unveiled as an Al Nassr player in a record breaking £175m-a-year deal after terminating his contract with Manchester United before the World Cup.

The 37-year-old star has now overtaken the new World Cup bride, Lionel Messi who was earning £103.4m per year, NBA star, Lebron James who was second with £101.4m per year earning.

The former Real Madrid player had been linked to Chelsea, Athletico Madrid, Manchester City, and even Real Madrid, but, according to the Portuguese star, he made his choice to choose Al Nassr over other offers across Europe, Brazil, Australia and USA.
