Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has called on Nigerians to forgive the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, over the massive failure of candidates in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

There has been a public outcry over the massive failure by candidates of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

In a press conference, Oloyede had blamed the error of mass failure on technical glitch.

He claimed that of the 1.9 million candidates who sat for the UTME, over 1.5 million reportedly scored below 200 out of the maximum 400 marks, raising concerns across the education sector.

Sani wrote on X: “No human being and no technology is beyond error.

“The JAMB Boss Professor Ishaq has admitted errors and sought forgiveness and promised rectification.

“He should be forgiven and given the chance to redeem his agency.

“It’s better than being arrogant, recalcitrant or looking for scapegoats.”

Sani urged those affected by the error to “sheath their swords” and forgive Oloyede, who has promised to rectify the situation.
