Security Operatives Rescue Zamfara Imam Unharmed After Abduction
A cleric, Malam Abdulsamadu, the second Imam of Zurmi Juma’at Mosque in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, has regained his freedom following a successful joint security operation.
According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the victim was abducted on Monday morning by armed bandits who whisked him away to an unknown destination.
Following the incident, a joint team of security operatives, comprising the military and other forces, promptly launched a search-and-rescue mission.
By Tuesday afternoon, the Imam was successfully rescued unharmed and was taken to a hospital for medical checks, treated, and later discharged. He has since been reunited with his family.
