NASARAWA STATE – The Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes has lauded the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its high standards of professionalism in the fight against financial crimes.
The committee emphasized that Nigeria has gained significant international respect and integrity due to the EFCC’s brilliant, patriotic, and committed efforts.
Senator Emmanuel Udende, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes, conveyed these sentiments during the 2025 passing-out parade of 169 EFCC cadets at the Nigeria Police Mobile Training College in Ende Hills, Nasarawa State. Represented by Senator Diket Plang, Udende described the EFCC as a “nation’s image-maker.” He assured the commission that Nigerians have high expectations and trust in its ability to deliver on its mandate.

“We are proud of the EFCC’s achievements. Nigeria’s standing in the international community has been bolstered thanks to your unwavering professionalism and commitment,” Senator Plang remarked. “As you now head into the field, we hope you will remain patriotic, God-fearing, and uphold Nigeria’s interests above all.” He also assured the EFCC that the Senate would continue to support the Commission’s work by providing it with the necessary resources and power.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, highlighted that the newly graduated cadets have not only been trained in law enforcement but also in ethics, discipline, and leadership. Olukoyede encouraged the cadets to hold fast to the Commission’s core values of integrity, courage, professionalism, and collaboration. “You are entrusted with safeguarding Nigeria’s future, and it’s crucial that you carry out your duties with the highest standards of ethics and integrity,” Olukoyede stated.
Among the 169 Detective Assistant Cadets who passed out, eleven stood out for their exceptional performance across various areas. Agwuncha Ugochukwu Lotanna was named the Best Overall Cadet, with Anani One Melche and Adutu Joy Uyo taking the First and Second Runner-up positions. Uyo was also honored as the Best in Legal Studies, showcasing the Commission’s focus on well-rounded, highly skilled operatives in the fight against financial crime.
