Thiago Silva, Fluminense centre-back, has labelled Chelsea forward Joao Pedro as a ‘special kid’ after Pedro’s brace led Chelsea to a 2-0 win over Fluminense in the Club World Cup semi-final.
Silva, a former Chelsea defender, expressed his admiration for Pedro, saying he had previously recommended him to his fitness team.
Truth Live News recalls that Pedro, who made his debut against Fluminense, joined Chelsea from Brighton for £60 million.
Silva told Globo, “This kid is special, I’ve a lot of affection for him.
“A while ago, I recommended him to the people who take care of my physical health.
“I faced him a few times at Chelsea, when he was still at Watford, and he had two great games against us. I said, ‘Man, this kid is special’.
“I did not expect him to be inspired today, he hit some great shots. One of our kids knocked us out of such an important competition, but good luck to him.”
