The statement of president Bola Tinubu during his inaugural speech on the removal of fuel subsidy has resulted to panic buying of fuel in Benin City.

Truth Live News reports that the NNPC mega station along Sapele Road Benin witnessed a large queue as motorists jostled to buy fuel.

The statement has also forced many filling stations in the state to look up and stop dispensing to motorists while others have to increase their pump price to N300.

Some of the motorists who spoke on the condition of anonymity to Truth Live News said they have to fill their fuel tanks to the brim because they never can tell what may happen next.

They wondered how an inaugural speech on the television can just cause filling stations to suddenly increase their pump prices when they not even gone to restock their products.
