Another ex international, Emmanuel Ebiede, has died at 45 as result of perennial neglect often meted to Nigerian athletes, either in retirement or haven fallen on hard times.
Ebiede was recently in the news over his health condition.
Haunting pictures of an emaciated, prematurely aged Ebiede with bloated tummy accompanied released stories of the ex-footballers battle for life on social media.
As learnt, he was battling with hepatomegaly (enlargement of the liver) and despite the intervention of Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Chris Green last week, he eventually died on Friday.
