Troops have successfully repelled a bandit attack in Mahuta Village, Dandume Local Government Area, Katsina State, rescuing a prominent local judge, Mr. Rabiu Tukur.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night when armed bandits stormed the village around 11:55 p.m., abducting six residents, including Mr. Tukur, a 49-year-old judge at the Lower Sharia Court in Dandume.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported the successful rescue operation, stating that troops engaged in a fierce confrontation with the bandits, freeing Judge Tukur without harm.
However, five victims remain captive, and efforts to locate and rescue them are ongoing.
This recent attack highlights the persistent security challenges in Katsina State, where bandits have been active in various local government areas.
