Update: More Details On Woman Who Died While Pursuing Husband, Side Chic

A woman, now identified as Barr Clara Opara Bassey died on Sunday, September 18, in a car accident she got while pursuing her husband and his alleged side chic in Calabar.

The deceased and her husband, Sunday Bassey, have been married for over 10years and have three kids.

It was reported that the woman sighted her husband and the lady at Spar Supermarket. Her husband on sighting her, started his car and drove off with the lady. Angered by her husband’s move, she also got into her car and started pursuing them. As her husband increased his speed, she also did same and at a point, lost control and fell into a ditch. This resulted to her being unconscious and lady confirmed dead by a Specialist hospital.

According to reports by a National dailies, she got a call from a friend that her husband was at the shopping mall with his side chic. She drove to the mall and on sighting her, the husband drove off with the lady.

Recognizing the lady as Laticia, her husband’s side chic, she drove after them. As her husband accelerated, she accelerated more to catch up with them until they got to the highway.

The husband then decided to veer off the highway into adjoining streets, forcing the wife to make a U-turn. It is at that point that she lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a tree, leaving her seriously injured.

According to eye witness account, immediately her husband saw that the wife have been involved in an accident, he made a U-turn to go rescue her.

The said side chic, alighted and fled the scene while the husband hurried to go help his wife.

The news outlet revealed that the man tearful pulled out his wife’s body from the marred vehicle, begging her not to die.

“He was apologetic before the dying wife and pleaded that she should not die. He rushed the wife to Navy Hospital in Calabar where she was reportedly confirmed dead,” an eye witness recounted.

Friends of the couple noted that they started dating in their university days.
