President Donald Trump has ordered all US flags to be lowered to half-mast until Sunday, September 14, at 6 pm in honor of Charlie Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, who was fatally shot at Utah Valley University.

Kirk, 31, was shot while speaking at an event on the university campus and later died at the hospital.

The suspect remains at large, and authorities are continuing their investigation.

Truth Live News reports that President Donald Trump had confirmed Kirk’s death.

“In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M.,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

This gesture is a mark of respect for Kirk’s contributions to conservative politics and his influence on young voters.

The order applies to all public buildings, military posts, and naval vessels across the United States and its territories.

Governor Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota has also directed flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Kirk.
