Peter Obi in the just concluded press conference became emotional and wept while he spoke about the state of youths in the country and recounted how youths are unable to achieve the most basic things because of bad leadership.
The LP presidential candidate recounted his encounter with a young lady from Nasarawa who learnt baking but couldn’t afford to get an oven for a meagre #75,000, stating that it is a pathetic situation in Nigeria. While speaking, he broke down in tears and said;
“That’s what we have in Nigeria: people who do not have money to buy an oven!”
Obi said that the election concluded did not meet the minimum standard of being free, fair and credible because there were cases of election malpractices and the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC chairman, Yakubu Mahmood, did not stay true to the just passed electoral law which states that only election conducted using the Bivas machine and transmitted through the iRev portal, is to be collated and announced.
He said that the presidential and national elections were not go through these categories and as expected, was supposed to be nullified, but for selfish reasons, INEC and Nigerian leaders, went ahead to announce a winner for a hugely flawed election.
Obi also derided the president Elect, Tinubu, that he cannot be addressed as “your excellency because it takes someone who is excellent to be addressed as such and so far from all that occurred in the just concluded election, Tinubu is not excellent.
