Visa Ban Ineffective, ICC Must Prosecute Electoral Violence Offenders, Says Ex Foreign Affairs Minister

Former Minister, Foreign Affairs, Prof Bolaji Akinyemi, believes that visa Ban proposed by the UK, US and being considered by the EU may not be effective punishment or deterrent for electoral offenders.

Rather, says the professor, the International Criminal Court, ICC, can prosecute these offenders.

“Visa Ban is just not enough to stop the offense'” the former minsiter said in television interview, recently.

The EU, UK and US have spoken strongly against electoral malpractices manifests in the course of the general elections in the country.
