AKAMKPA, CROSS RIVER – The University of Education and Entrepreneurship (UEE), Akamkpa, stunned pioneer students with two major announcements: the launch of its first-ever orientation and a sudden shift in the matriculation schedule.

At the maiden orientation ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Patrick N. Asuquo charged students to become “creators of opportunities” in a country plagued by unemployment. “We will not raise job seekers—we will raise job makers,” he declared.

The Vice Chancellor unveiled UEE’s core pillars: Academic Excellence, Entrepreneurial Innovation, and Community Impact. “This university is designed to solve real-life problems, starting with our own communities,” he added.

In a detailed session, Registrar Dr. Gabriel O. Egbe mapped out the institution’s administrative structure, stressing that students must understand how the system works to thrive. “This clarity empowers them to navigate both academics and campus life effectively,” he said.

Students were exposed to critical topics such as drug abuse, indecent dressing, library use, and personal development, with facilitators emphasizing values and responsibility. “Success begins with discipline,” one resource person stated.

But just as the academic momentum picked up, a twist came.

The University Management, citing the upcoming Id el Kabir celebration on Friday, 6th and Monday, 9th June 2025, announced a new date for the Matriculation Ceremony—Wednesday, 11th June 2025.

“This shift accommodates the Muslim festival,” said Ag. Director of Information and Protocol, Comrade Francis Agbor. “We regret any inconvenience this rescheduling may cause.”

Students reacted with mixed feelings. “I was looking forward to matriculating this week, but I understand the reason,” said pioneer student Janet Bassey.

The double development marks a defining moment in UEE’s academic history—vision revealed, expectations reset.
