Al Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi has attributed his team’s 4-3 win over Manchester City in the Club World Cup to an “extraordinary” performance.
The team came back from behind twice to defeat the Premier League giants, with Marcos Leonardo scoring two goals, including the winner eight minutes from time.
“We knew we had to do something extraordinary if we were to beat Manchester City and that is what the boys did tonight, the lads were simply wonderful,” Inzaghi said in a post-match interview.
Inzaghi praised his players for their exceptional performance in both possession and defense.
Al Hilal will now face Fluminense in the quarter-final after the Brazilian side defeated Inter Milan 2-0 on Monday night.
