The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has praised the vital role of women in society, describing them as the “pillars of our homes” and key contributors to national development.

In a statement issued on Saturday to mark International Women’s Day (IWD), Wike, through his senior special assistant on public communication and social media, Lere Olayinka, reaffirmed his ministry’s commitment to ensuring women receive the recognition and influence they deserve.

He specifically acknowledged the contributions of Mahmoud Mariya, Minister of State for FCT, and Grace Adayilo, the first female Head of Service in the FCT, for their significant impact in the nation’s capital.

Wike assured that his administration would continue working to improve lives, particularly for women, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

“To our women in the FCT, starting from the Minister of State to the first female Head of Service, today gives us the opportunity to say we are grateful for the impact you make,” the minister said.

He urged women to continue supporting the government, promising increased opportunities and a better quality of life for them.
