A woman identified as Daso Umaru was found dead with knife wounds on her face at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre in Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State.

According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the body, discovered around 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, was evacuated to General Hospital, Fika, where a medical doctor confirmed her death. The corpse has been released to relatives for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

Witnesses reported that the deceased’s son, Idi Umaru, alleged in anger that Jauro Gambo, a resident of the same community, might have been responsible for the killing.

Community members noted that Gambo and his family were nowhere to be found shortly after the incident, fueling suspicion of his involvement.
