A community youth leader, Mr. Dabit Clement Joseph, popularly known as Chepti, has been shot dead in an ambush by suspected armed militias in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The 47-year-old victim was the Youth President of Horop District.
According to Zagazola Makama, the attack took place in the early hours of Thursday when a joint patrol team of soldiers, vigilantes, and hunters came under fire along the Horop–Laban–Nawala feeder road.
His body has since been evacuated to the morgue at Luna Hospital in Bokkos.
Police authorities confirmed that investigations have begun, with security forces intensifying efforts to track down the perpetrators of the ambush.
