The Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has settled all outstanding debts owed to examination bodies, resulting in the release of withheld results by WAEC and NECO.

The previous administrations had failed to pay WAEC from 2018 to 2022 and NECO from 2014 to 2018, causing significant setbacks for public schools in Zamfara State.

Governor Lawal paid N1.4 billion to WAEC and N320,699,850 to NECO to settle the debts.

The payment has relieved over 500 students who had their results withheld, allowing them to proceed with their education.

The governor’s efforts are part of a broader strategy to overhaul the educational sector, including renovating schools, training teachers, and declaring a state of emergency in education.
