Police Arrest 49 Suspects For Looting Kano Plaza

The Kano State Police Command has arrested no fewer than of 49 suspects in over the looting of property at the Triumph Plaza in the Fagge Local Government Area of the state.

Confirming the arrest on Monday, spokesperson of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna said, they received a report on June 4, 2023, from good Samaritans that some hoodlums in their hundreds were planning to loot properties of buildings/structures at Triumph Plaza, Fagge LGA, Kano State.

According to him, after receiving the report, the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gumel, directed the immediate deployment of teams of Operation Restore Peace to the scene, who on arrival at the scene promptly arrested the suspected looters.

He discloaaed that, at least “49 suspects were arrested, and the following looted properties were recovered, three flash doors, flash windows, four LG Air conditioners, eight pieces of polling door iron and 16 heavy duty hammers.”

Haruna advised parents and community leaders to counsel their wards/youths to desist from looting people’s properties.
