President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the implementation of the “Nigeria First” Policy, which prohibits the importation of foreign goods that can be produced locally.
The approval is based on the recommendation of the Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Adebowale Adedokun, to align with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The implementation guidelines will be provided by the DG, BPP, Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun.
This development follows Tinubu’s order on May 3rd, 2025, to ban the importation of foreign goods that can be produced locally in Nigeria.
The policy aims to prioritize local production and procurement, promoting Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
