A non governmental organization, Emmanuel Asemota Foundation, has taken its message of good personal hygiene, dangers of cultism and drug abuse to the students of Eyean Secondary School, Benin with the view of building a prosperous and a crime free society.

Addressing the students who were mainly boys, the Chief Operations Officer, Dr. Ochuko Onovae, said major attention has been focused on the girl-child over the years without considering the existence of the boy-child, hence the Emmanuel Asemota Foundation, righting the wrongs.

He said to start with, the boy-child must be taught to be self-confidence adding that, to have that done, it has to start with their personal hygiene.

Dr. Onovae said personal hygiene which includes regular bathing, washing of ones clothes, brushing of the teeth, shaving of the armpits can help them get rid of body odour and restore their confidence in public places.

Speaking on the theme: “Cultism and drug abuse”, the Chief Medical Officer of the foundation, Dr. Oghenekaro Hanunu, said both acts have sent young boys to their early graves.

She said that most boys today are being pressured to either join cult or take to drugs while still in their secondary school.

Dr. Hanunu said that when they are being pressured by their peers, they should relate it to their teachers or somebody they trusted and should not keep quiet about it.

Hanunu admonished them not to allow the efforts of their parents go down the drain by joining the secret cult noting that, the state government has begun the demolition of property linked to cult related activities and kidnapping.

The foundation however donated a brand new laptop to Moses Ehimache, an SSII students of the school who emerged winner of a quiz competition.

The foundation also donated writing materials to the students of the school.
