Gunmen Kidnap Mother, Daughter, Shoot Teen in Kano

Unknown gunmen have abducted a 50-year-old woman, Mrs. Laure Audu, and her 15-year-old daughter, Miss Basira Audu, while injuring a teenage boy in a violent attack on Yarmariya village, Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State, in the early hours of August 8, 2025.

According to sources who revealed counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the assailants, wielding dangerous weapons, stormed the residence of Alhaji Audu Shehu at approximately 1:45 a.m. “The hoodlums, armed with dangerous weapons, invaded the residence of Alhaji Audu Shehu at about 1:45 a.m., abducted his wife, Mrs. Laure Audu, and 15-year-old daughter, Miss Basira Audu, and shot his 13-year-old son, Ibrahim Audu, in the left leg,” a source confirmed to Makama.

The injured boy, Ibrahim, was rushed to Tudun Wada General Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

Officers from Tudun Wada Division promptly visited the scene to assess the situation and initiate investigations. “An investigation was ongoing, with efforts being intensified to rescue the abducted victims and arrest the perpetrators,” the source added, showing the police’s commitment to resolving the case.

The brazen attack has left the Yarmariya community in shock, with residents calling for enhanced security measures to curb rising banditry.

The Kano State Police Command is intensifying efforts to secure the safe release of Mrs. Audu and her daughter while tracking the culprits.

As investigations continue, authorities urge the public to provide information to aid the rescue operation and restore calm to the affected area.
