The Kano State Police Command has apprehended a notorious kidnapper, Inuwa Yusuf, 30, and several members of his syndicate following a breakthrough in Shanono Local Government Area.

The arrests were triggered by the escape of Kabiru Umar, a resident of Faruruwa Village, who was abducted in May 2025 who identified Yusuf, also from Faruruwa, as one of his abductors, leading to Yusuf’s arrest on August 31, 2025.

According to Zagazola Makama, during interrogation, Yusuf confessed to the crime and admitted his involvement in multiple kidnappings, including the murder of Malam Isyaku from Faruruwa Village. “The investigation led to the arrest of other syndicate members: Ibrahim Shuaibu, Aminu Sani, Kabiru Moh’d, all of Faruruwa Village, and Buhari Habu of Katsina State,” police sources confirmed.

Authorities revealed that efforts are ongoing to capture the remaining members of the syndicate, who are still at large. “Sources said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the syndicate,” Makama reported.

The police have since increased operations to dismantle criminal networks in Kano and neighboring states, urging residents to provide credible information to aid investigations.
