Massive Construction Works At Sankwala As C’River Govt Prepares To Bury Senate President

The Cross River Government has assured that the late former Senate President, Senator Dr. Joseph Wayas, will be buried as scheduled for November 30, 2024.

Deputy Governor and Chairman of the burial Planning Committee, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, gave the assurance while on inspection of projects on Sunday.

The Deputy Governor’s Press Unit reported that as part of preparations for the funeral, he inspected work at Wayas’s Sankwala residence, including the tomb, access roads, and other related projects.

Truth Live News learned that Hon.Odey conducted a routine inspection of the deceased’s compound where the construction of the mausoleum and other works are ongoing.

According to the unit, the team also inspected the Donald Duke Airstrip, Bebi, where guests and remains of the late Senate President Wayas, will be landing in Obanliku Cross River Northern Senatorial District.

The inspection team featured the Secretary of the Central Planning Committee for the burial, Dorn Cklaimz Enamhe, Council Chairman of Ogoja LGA, Hon. Chris Agbeh, Commissioner for Social Housing, Hon. Mrs Beatrice Igwe, Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Hon. Patrick Egbede, and his International Donor Coordination counterpart, Dr. Hippolatus Lukpata.

Others include, Head of Personal Staff to the Deputy Governor, Dr. Chris Ojikpong, as well as the Vice Chairman of Obudu LGA, Hon. Rhoda Ashong.
