The new Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has declared his commitment to driving the company’s transformation agenda and positioning it as a source of national pride for all Nigerians.

Speaking during his first townhall meeting with thousands of staff at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, Ojulari described the moment as a “gateway of a new era” and laid out ambitious targets for the energy giant under his leadership.

“Our task is great, but the opportunity to redefine Nigeria’s energy future is even greater,” Ojulari said. “Now is the time to turn our transformation promise into performance.”

Outlining his strategic roadmap, Ojulari announced that NNPC Ltd aims to attract $30 billion in sectoral investments by 2027 and double that figure to $60 billion by 2030. Other key goals include increasing crude oil production to 2 million barrels per day by 2027 and 3 million by 2030, expanding refining capacity to 500,000 barrels per day, and growing gas production to 12 billion cubic feet per day by 2030. He also emphasized the company’s role in enhancing energy access and affordability for all Nigerians.

To achieve these targets, the GCEO said the company would adopt a reconfigured, agile business structure, implement data-driven value assessments, enforce robust performance management systems, and foster transparent partnerships. Most critically, Ojulari stressed the importance of taking control of the NNPC narrative as a modern, innovative, and reform-driven national energy company.

He encouraged staff to take pride in NNPC Ltd’s transformation journey and pledged to foster an inclusive, performance-driven culture. “Our success will be powered by empowered employees,” he stated. “Together, we will build a high-performing, globally competitive NNPC Ltd that is proudly Nigerian and proudly world-class.”

Ojulari also committed to deepening collaboration with staff unions and emphasized the need for integrity, urgency, and excellence across the board.

The meeting marked Ojulari’s first official engagement since assuming office and underscored his intent to lead with a bold, reformist agenda for NNPC Ltd.
