A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Edo State chapter, Mr. Darlington Okpebholo Ray, has urged the Legacy Group of the party to step out of from their hiding places and actively support the governorship candidate of the party, Asue Ighodalo, rather than making clandestine visits to him.

He made the call while reacting to recent developments in the party as it enters the campaign phase.

Mr. Okpebholo, the publisher of the Truth Live News Media, stated that the party, under the leadership of Godwin Obaseki, is prepared to forgive the Legacy Group for their attempts to hinder progres.

This was even as he urged them to boldly align themselves with the party, reiterating that the Legacy Group is defunct and irrelevant in the state.

He said partly, “We are aware that some of those who are still pretending to be members of the extinct, illegal, and unconstitutional group called ‘Legacy PDP’ have been meeting secretly with the incoming governor, Asue Ighodalo, and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie.

“If you truly have the interest of the state at heart, come out and support the PDP candidate, and you will be protected.

“We will not allow them to harass or intimidate you.

“The truth now is that the group has gone into extinction because those who claim to be the leaders of Legacy today are not truly Legacy.

“They joined the party between 2008 and 2010, ten years after the establishment of the PDP.

“So, how can tenants be claiming ownership of a property they didn’t build or purchase? It’s horrendous!

“I call on my good friends who are reaching out in private to openly step out of the cold and join the moving train of Asue Ighodalo before it’s too late.

“I won’t mention your names. You know yourselves. Be bold enough and come out of the shackles and shadow of political slavery and coven of manipulations.”

The PDP respected figure continued by establishing that Asue Ighodalo has brought peace, love, and unity to the party, noting that everyone who cares for the party and Edo state has embraced the positive change since his candidacy.

He however said that the Legacy Group still has the opportunity and grace to rectify its course, but that those working against the party’s interests will not be tolerated.

The seasoned media expert concluded by reiterating his confidence in Asue Ighodalo’s candidacy and affirmed that the party will emerge victorious in the forthcoming governorship election, with or without the support of the Legacy Group.
