The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has donated N20 million to victims of the recent flooding disaster in Mokwa Local Government Area, Niger State.

Obi made the donation during a visit to the state on Monday, where he also promised to meet with the affected families personally to offer support and condolences.

At the Niger State Government House in Minna, Obi was welcomed by Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba.

The former Anambra State governor expressed deep sympathy for the loss suffered by the state’s residents and government.

Last week, severe flash floods in Mokwa claimed the lives of 153 people, with over 100 others reported missing. The disaster destroyed homes and left many families displaced.

Obi prayed for the souls of those who died and asked for strength for the families to cope with the tragedy.

Deputy Governor Garba thanked Obi for his generosity and compassion, praising his continued support for victims of natural disasters in Nigeria.
