CROSS RIVER, CALABAR – The University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) has again shifted the resumption date for the 2025/2026 academic session, sparking concern among students and staff.
A circular signed by the Acting Registrar, Idim E. Ekanem, announced that resumption has been moved from Monday, October 13, to Friday, November 7, 2025.
According to the circular dated October 9, 2025, the adjustment became necessary to allow lecturers complete the uploading of students’ results and give management time to prepare for the forthcoming accreditation exercise.
Ekanem explained that the delay would also enable the university to carry out essential maintenance work in students’ hostels to ensure a conducive learning and living environment.
“The management regrets any inconvenience this change may cause and counts on the understanding and support of staff and students,” the circular read in part.
Truth Live News report that the notice urged all members of the university community to cooperate with management to ensure the smooth running of academic activities when school resumes.
Vice Chancellor Professor Francisca Bassey reassured that the postponement was in the best interest of the university.
