NIGERIA, ABUJA – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has promised greater support for Nigeria’s security agencies through better funding and improved welfare.

Tinubu made this known through Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, at the Second Edition of Police Awards and Commendations held in Abuja.

“My administration is committed to equipping and training our security agencies while improving their remuneration,” Tinubu said via Akpabio.

Akpabio, representing the president, also shared personal contributions he made to the Nigeria Police as a former governor.

“I once donated 350 jeeps, four Armoured Personnel Carriers, and built a Mopol Base and Police Secondary School,” Akpabio recalled.

He also urged state governors to play their part. “No matter how little, any support to the Police is significant,” he said.
