The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has condemned the invasion of its offices by Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) officials over alleged non-payment of ground rent.

FIRS denied owing 25 years’ ground rent for two of its offices at Sokode Crescent, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, stating that it had paid the sum of N2,364,003.26 covering ground rent from 2000 to 2024.

The agency claimed that despite payment, Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS) failed to receipt the payment or issue a treasury receipt.

FIRS is demanding an apology from FCTA officials for the “unjustifiable invasion” and “rascality” displayed by the administration.

The agency emphasized that it is a law-abiding organization that does not owe FCTA ground rent on any of its offices in the FCT.
