Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has strongly condemned the recent attack on Kpav, specifically in Dikpo and Imande Gberihwa communities in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area.
The attack, carried out by armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, resulted in the loss of an unspecified number of lives.
Governor Alia expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and the entire community, describing the attack as “a painful reminder of the challenges” his administration faces in ensuring peace and security in the state.
He emphasized that the cruelty displayed in the attack is “extremely offensive and will not be countenanced.”
The governor reassured the people of Benue State that those responsible for the attack will be brought to justice.
In response to the tragedy, his government has deployed security forces to the affected areas and is implementing enhanced security measures to track the attackers and prevent further incidents.
Governor Alia urged the people of Benue State to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities, emphasizing that their security is the top priority of his administration.
He appealed for collective efforts to achieve lasting peace, stating, “We will rise above this challenge and strengthen our resolve to protect our homes and loved ones.”
