Napoli has intervened to stop Saudi club Al Hilal from selling jerseys bearing the name of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, citing contractual obligations that render such sales inappropriate.
Reports from Turkish media outlet Akşam indicated that Al Hilal had begun offering Osimhen jerseys for sale, suggesting a three-year contract worth €120 million had been agreed upon. However, these jerseys were swiftly removed from the club’s official online store.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis contacted Al Hilal, emphasizing that Osimhen is currently on loan to Turkish club Galatasaray until June 30, 2025, and remains under contract with Napoli. De Laurentiis insisted that selling jerseys with Osimhen’s name could lead to legal complications, prompting the immediate withdrawal of the merchandise.
Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray followed a tumultuous period at Napoli, where he was excluded from the Serie A squad and had his shirt reassigned to Romelu Lukaku. The Nigerian striker joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan, earning a reported salary of €6 million, with no option to buy included in the deal, according to France 24 and Al Jazeera news report.
Spanish football giants Atletico Madrid are set to battle Premier League sides for the signature of Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche, following an impressive season at Getafe, BSNSports news report.
The 22-year-old Super Eagles prospect played a key role in helping Getafe maintain their La Liga status, contributing four goals and six assists under coach Jose Bordalas.
According to reports, English clubs Bournemouth, Newcastle United, and Aston Villa have shown strong interest in Uche. Getafe president Angel Torres has reportedly valued the midfielder at around €20 million.
However, Atletico Madrid are keen to keep the rising star in Spain and are prepared to activate his €25 million buyout clause to secure the deal and fend off competition from the Premier League.
Uche’s performances this season have made him one of the most sought-after young talents in European football, with clubs eager to bring his energy and creativity into their midfield ranks.
Napoli are demanding Rasmus Hojlund plus £33.6 million from Manchester United for Victor Osimhen’s signature this summer.
Truth Live News reports that Manchester United are keen on signing a new striker to bolster their squad after a trophy-less 2024/25 season.
The Red Devils are now exploring alternative options, including Osimhen, after Liam Delap’s preference to join Chelsea became clear.
Manchester United’s director of football, Matt Hargreaves, recently traveled to Italy for talks with Napoli’s owner and sporting director to discuss Osimhen’s transfer.
However, Napoli are demanding a Rasmus Hojlund plus £33.6 million for Manchester United to land Osimhen to Old Trafford.
Osimhen has a £63 million release clause in his contract, valid only for teams outside of Italy, and his loan deal with Galatasaray will expire in June.
The 26-year-old Nigerian attacker is yet to decide his next move after the season.
Chelsea, Juventus Join Arsenal in Pursuit of Gyokeres
Chelsea have joined Arsenal in pursuing Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres this summer.
Arsenal had already held talks with Gyokeres’ agent in Lisbon and tabled a proposal worth £58.7m for his signature, with a five-year contract worth £110,000 weekly.
Juventus have also approached the Sweden international to explore his options, giving Gyokeres a tough decision to make about his future.
Truth Live Newsreports that Gyokeres has impressed for Sporting since joining from Coventry City in 2023 and was previously linked with a move away from the club.
But the 26-year-old now has to decide his next step after the interest from top clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Juventus.
Manchester United star Amad Diallo has assured that the reported faceoff between manager Ruben Amorim and winger Alejandro Garnacho has been resolved.
Diallo, who said he knows Garnacho well, maintained that the Argentine international will continue playing for Manchester United next season.
According to Diallo, the issue is not a big deal for the team, and everything is good now.
Truth Live News recalls that Garnacho was kept on the bench by Amorim for the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspurs, despite playing a key role in the competition.
The 19-year-old winger has been impressive for Manchester United, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists in 58 games across competitions this season.
Garnacho’s contract with Manchester United runs until the summer of 2028.
