Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos has thrown his support behind his teammate Ousmane Dembélé for the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.
During PSG’s open-top bus victory parade in Paris, Marquinhos chanted Dembélé’s name, proclaiming “Ousmane, BALLON D’OR!”
This endorsement comes after PSG’s historic 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League final, which has further boosted Dembélé’s chances of winning the award.
Dembélé has had an impressive campaign, scoring 33 goals and providing 15 assists in 49 games across competitions.
Notably, Marquinhos’ support for Dembélé means he’s backing a teammate over his countryman Raphinha, who is also a great contender for the award.
Raphinha’s impressive performances have made him a strong candidate, but Marquinhos believes Dembélé’s achievements make him the most deserving of the prestigious individual honour.
