Troops Eliminate N100m Bounty Terror Kingpin in Borno Raid

The Nigerian Army Special Forces from the 19 Brigade of Sector 3, Operation Hadin Kai, killed notorious terrorist commander Amir Abu Fatima, who carried a N100 million bounty, during a precision operation in northern Borno State on Friday, May 30.

The raid targeted the Kukawa axis in the Lake Chad region, following meticulous intelligence planning.

The elite forces stormed the terrorist enclave, engaging militants in a fierce firefight. Abu Fatima was critically wounded, captured alive, but later died from severe bleeding caused by gunshot injuries. His second-in-command, bomb-makers, and several fighters were also neutralized during the clash.

Recovered items included AK-47 rifles, loaded magazines, IED-making materials, and other military-grade ordnance.

Abu Fatima, a high-profile insurgent leader, was linked to numerous terrorist attacks in the Lake Chad basin, making him a top target on Nigeria’s most-wanted list.

His elimination is a significant blow to terrorist networks, dealing both operational and psychological setbacks to their activities in the region. The military continues its efforts to dismantle remaining terrorist strongholds.
